We have decided to ask Andrey Skvortsov several questions in this respect.
— What does it mean to become a finalist? How many finalists are there in total and how many participants?
— Overall there are thousands of participants from over forty countries, hundreds of them in our nomination. Five come through to the final in each nomination, three are awarded medals, and two receive the finalist's diploma. So we hold a fourth or a fifth place worldwide.
— It is the third time that you become a finalist, but you have not received a medal yet, why? Isn't it hurtful?
— Why should we be hurt? The worldwide competition in our business is tough, all films are high-class, in fact, at this Festival we compete with the world industry "monsters.
— Why this year it was the film for IPCG that won, as we know you had many other interesting films?
— I can not say why this film precisely was chosen. However, it is a good film. It contains no self-admiration and no window-dressing. It is an honest view of oneself, as if seen from outside. Well, and it was well-made, of course.
— Why do not you participate in Russian competitions and festivals?
— Russia has no festival or competition that would have the "corporate film" nomination. And this is exactly what we do and what we show. And here we have a whole Festival boasting a 50 year old history already, and films are sent there from dozens of countries! By the way, we are the only finalists from Russia in the "Film and Video" category, and we are very happy that thanks to us our country is represented in the list of finalists.
— Are you the only finalists of the Festival from Russia?
— In terms of corporate films - yes, we are. Russian TV channels have succeeded in a different section of the Festival devoted to TV design and TV promotion (they even received the gold medals) - Rossiya, First Channel, NTV. This year the First Channel was awarded the bronze medal. Russian TV design in general is of a very high quality, it is one of the best worldwide.
— Do you plan to continue participating in the Festival in the future?
— We certainly do. For us it is both a promotion and a gauge to measure the level of our products.
— Do you expect to be awarded a medal?
— We have a different objective. Our films must solve the tasks that our customers set before us. This is the main, and in fact the only purpose that we have in mind when we do our work. Afterwards we can send the result and see what the judges will think of it. Sometimes we can see how a similar task was solved in another country, which is very useful.
— We wish you luck!
— Thank you, we wish the same to you!
